the little red dress

I think everyone, including men, should own a little red dress. I was having a conversation with my friends the other day on how they would suit this particular one. Little red dresses symbolise a change in your life, where you are no longer a child frolicking through the field, but rather maturing and throwing away childish habits such as wanting icecream and lollies.

Here's my little red dress - however, I'm not sure I'll change my habits anytime soon. That'll have to wait to marriage, or maybe even longer. Frolicking will always be something carried through life

And just for fun.... here's a poem about a red dress by dorothy parker

The Red Dress

I always saw, I always said
If I were grown and free,
I'd have a gown of reddest red
As fine as you could see,

To wear out walking, sleek and slow,
Upon a Summer day,
And there'd be one to see me so
And flip the world away.

And he would be a gallant one,
With stars behind his eyes,
And hair like metal in the sun,
And lips too warm for lies.

I always saw us, gay and good,
High honored in the town.
Now I am grown to womanhood....
I have the silly gown.
